Strain through cheesecloth into a dropper bottle. Store at room temperature.
To use: warm the bottle in your hands for two minutes until the oil is body temperature. Tilt your head to the side, place two drops in the ear canal, and stay in that position for five minutes. Then tilt the other way to let it drain. Do this three nights in a row for acute ringing, or once a week for maintenance.
Mullein flowers reduce inflammation in the ear canal and support circulation to the surrounding tissue. Garlic oil is one of the strongest natural antibacterials — it addresses any microbial component that may be contributing to the inflammation. Together they have been used in Appalachian folk medicine for ear problems for as long as anyone can remember.
Part two — the daily support:
One tablespoon of pumpkin seeds and a small handful of dark leafy greens every single day — spinach, kale, or dandelion greens from the garden. These provide the magnesium and zinc that support auditory nerve function. Most people with persistent tinnitus are deficient in both.
